Ten little details you never knew you needed for your wedding invitations.. until NOW!

It’s no secret that I LOVE a little detail, whether it be the delicately tied silk ribbon that matches the colour of your bridesmaid’s dress, the precisely folded vellum wraps, or the authentically shiny indentation created by the traditional print method of foil blocking. It’s these carefully crafted details that will really set your invitations apart and will create an heirloom piece you’ll treasure forever.

So here are a few ideas for those extra bits that will wow your guests, whilst beautifully setting the tone of your day.

1. Addressed envelopes
This part of the invitation is the first thing your guests will see, so ensure it matches the design of your stationery for a cohesive look and feel. Messy handwriting need not be a worry if you opt for printed envelopes too!

2. Real pressed flower wax seals
Wax seals are a beautiful finishing touch on a sealed envelope and one that oozes luxury. To go even further, have a real pressed flower pressed within the wax. A unique finishing touch that really will wow your guests.

3. Return address
A practical and pretty solution to ensuring your invitations don’t get lost in the post. Have your names and address foil pressed on the reverse of your envelopes so the postman knows where to send it back to if it happens to get lost in the postal system.

4. Envelope liners
Printed lined envelopes add a little extra luxury and a lot more pretty to the opening experience.

5. Silk ribbon
Sumptuously soft silk ribbon hand-dyed in the English countryside is definitely one way to elevate your stationery. Silk is as luxury as ribbon gets and its delicate aesthetic certainly screams fancy. Have it tied around vellum wraps, or around the invitation cards themselves for a beautiful first sight of your invitations as they’re pulled out of the envelope.

6. Floral vellum wraps
Precisely wrapped around your invitation cards, a printed floral vellum wrap keeps all the cards together neatly, whilst looking rather pretty too.

7. Gold foil wording
Foil blocking is an age-old craft dating back to the 19th century and comes as standard across all of my stationery. This technique, along with extra thick papers, creates a beautifully authentic (and shiny!) indentation in the paper that makes them extra special.

8. A venue illustration
Have the special place that you’ll say your vows illustrated and printed amongst the design of your wedding stationery. It will showcase the details you love about your special venue whilst adding a personal touch to your invitation suite.

9. An illustrated map
Used as a handy tool for directions for your guests, whilst doubling up as a pretty impressive wedding keepsake, an illustrated map card will be bespoke to you and your wedding day. Remember to order an extra copy to frame after your wedding day!

10. RSVP address
Have your address foil pressed in gold on the RSVP envelopes, so you or your guests don’t have to handwrite your address onto them. Don’t forget to add a postal stamp to this too, so your guests don’t have to worry about purchasing postage and are more inclined to RSVP on time!

If you’ve made it to this point, I’m assuming details mean as much to you as they do me.
