Welcome to Gable & Grain
Gina’s pressed flower art, love of thoughtful details and heritage craftsmanship are at the heart of Gable & Grain
“I have always believed there is something special about holding a beautifully crafted piece of paper in your hands. It’s my hope that every Gable & Grain piece creates that feeling.”
Gina, Founder of Gable & Grain
Founder
A graphic designer at heart, hopeful gardener and appreciator of an exceptionally good cup of tea, I create nature-inspired stationery with a love of fine craftsmanship and the smallest details.
Home
At the foot of the North Downs, in a quiet countryside village, every piece of Gable & Grain stationery is thoughtfully designed, pressed and hand-finished in my home studio.
Style
The stationery is created using the time-honoured craft of flower pressing. Combined with heritage printing methods, these blooms are transformed into keepsakes to be treasured for years to come.
Meet Gina
Coffee table book collector, paper admirer and hopeful gardener. Designer, detail lover and avid tea drinker.
After training as a graphic designer, I started my career working as a designer for a number of wonderful high end brands, including Harrods, The White Company and Plum & Ashby, where I discovered a love for thoughtful design, fine craftsmanship and the beauty in the smallest details.
Having escaped commuter life, my studio is now based in my home in a small countryside village at the foot of the North Downs, where I live with my husband, two young children and mischievous Cocker Spaniel, Wilson.
You’ll usually find me surrounded by paper swatches, finished cups of tea and whichever flowers have caught my eye that week. I love wandering around garden centres, filling my home with beautiful books and meaningful objects, live music, trips to the seaside and rainy dog walks.
Come on in…
My home studio is where all the gentle magic happens. With big windows overlooking the garden it feels like the place where indoors and outdoors meet. The studio houses my flower presses and state-of-the-art hot foil press, and every piece of Gable & Grain stationery is designed, pressed and hand-finished here. My garden is home to a cutting garden where I grow flowers from seed to pick, press and use within my designs.
The Gable & Grain signature
My style blends heritage techniques with modern design sensibilities and a passion for finding joy in the smallest of details. Here are the hallmarks of a Gable & Grain design:
-
My designs follow the path from garden to paper. I pick delicate flowers from my garden and local flower farm to press, preserve and use as the centre of my designs. These are then printed onto luxuriously thick paper and paired with shiny foil blocked wording.
-
This technique is centuries old and uses individual metal plates to stamp hot foil into the paper or card, leaving a stunning and shiny indentation. It’s gorgeously tactile, and truly artisanal, with each individual piece needing to be pressed by hand, one by one.
-
Extra thick uncoated paper, hand-dyed silk ribbons, shiny foil and beautiful packaging; only the finest materials are selected to create your stationery. Each element is handpicked with care to create a beautiful tactile experience from the very first touch.
-
Very nearly everything is created from my home studio. The flowers are pressed, the foil is printed, the wax seals are stamped, the silk ribbons are tied, the envelopes are filled. Everything is assembled personally by me, to ensure it is perfect before making its way to you.
-
Working with me means a genuinely personal experience. I would love to hear about your wedding or the event you’re celebrating and will always take time to answer any questions you have at any point during the process.
